The town is an ancient one, the 'new quay' from which it takes it's name dates back to the fifteenth century, when it was known as 'Towan Blystraa'.

There is a good variety of both high street and local shops, with interesting alleyways housing little craft and antique shops and a selection of inviting tea shops and cafes for a refreshing break.

Introducing the Kilbirnie Hotyel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean,  originally built in the late 1930's as one of the first hotels on Narrowcliff in Newquay.

 

Origingllly a small family run business, it has seen several transformations over the years and has changed owners and styles in keeping with the times.

 

Today it offers a bright contemporary style while making the most of the stunning views right on the doorstep.  It includes a heated indoor swimming pool, an outdoor splash pool, sauna, fulluy equipped fitness suite and a secluded sun terrace.
